Hollywood and pirate novels would have you believe that pirates were swashbucklers living a life of pleasure on the seas, fighting only when they had to. They make it easy to see past the fact that they were stealing gold and other valuables by making the people they were stealing it from seem worse than them. Well, I enjoy Talk Like a Pirate Day as much as most other geeks, but I think it’s important to add a dose of reality. Phineas and Ferb Sets Premiere Date for Lindelof-Written Lost-Themed Episode

I haven’t seen the upcoming episode of Phineas and Ferb based on the hit TV series Lost and written by its co-creator Damon Lindelof, so I can’t tell you how good it’s going to be. But at least, given that it involves Phineas, Ferb, Perry, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, etc., I think I’m safe in saying it’s at least going to be much, much better than the last new Lost content that aired on TV.

Disney Demonstrates Its Fear of Kermit-ment: What’s to Become of the Muppets?

It’s been more than 24 years since Jim Henson’s untimely death. It’s been more than ten years since The Walt Disney Company acquired the Muppets. This year’s Muppets Most Wanted was a mostly-mediocre movie and didn’t do so hot at the box office. Following that relative failure, it looks like Disney is losing interest in investing much more time and money in the franchise.
