DC Super Hero Girls App Available on iOS

Just in time for the premiere of Super Hero High this Saturday, March 19, on Boomerang, DC has released Super Hero Girls for iOS mobile devices. Users can watch animated shorts, learn more about their favorite DC Super Hero Girls, take and customize photos, and play games featuring the Super Hero Girls characters.

Two games are included in the release version of the app. The first is Shield Defense, which has players rotate Wonder Woman on a pivot in the middle of the screen in an effort to block rebounding projectiles with her shield. The second is Katana Chop, a Fruit Ninja style game featuring Katana.

“Katana Chop” is very familiar to “Fruit Ninja” fans.

There is currently a placeholder within the games section of the app for Batgirl, as well as two additional game slots. The official press release states that the in Batgirl game, players will piece “pictures back together and solve the mystery in this fun puzzle game.” The other two games yet to come feature Supergirl melting targets with her heat vision and Harley Quinn throwing glitter bombs. No timetable is given for the release of these three games, though the Batgirl placeholder does say “Coming Soon”.

The “Dorm” section allows users to select a portrait and learn more about that character. The app promises there are more character portraits to come.

DC Super Hero Girls is available to download for free in the iTunes app store.
