The last one really caught my eye. Given the trailers for the movie, the soundtrack looks absolutely killer.

I loved the book, and from the trailers, it looks pretty much just as I pictured it in my head while reading – except Cinna, but I’m curious to see how Lenny Kravitz fares. Plus, the score sounds amazing.
I can’t wait to take my oldest son to see it, we both just read the books!
My thirteen year old daughter came to me and said, “Mom, please read this book.” She’s never-ever done that. It might sound strange but we had a total bonding moment, which is so rare with her and I these days that I kinda treasured it. Her birthday is coming up and this would be a nice surprise for her.
two reasons, actually – the costumes and seeing a strong female lead who, while clueless about the men in her life isn’t making all her decisions based on the men in her life (anti-Bella?)
I just read the books can I can’t wait to see the first movie. I want to see how they transfer this amazing book to the big screen.
This will be the first time my husband and I have both read a book before the movie coming out. We can’t wait to see it together and discuss!
I was a little late on reading the books, but I loved them and can’t wait to see the movie!
Both my wife and I loved the books and are actually getting a sitter to see the movie opening weekend. So excited!
read the books, dying to see the movie
Looking forward to seeing if the actors’ portrayals of the characters match up with what I imagined – some of the casting choices seem…interesting.
My daughter read the Hunger Games in school, as required reading & loved it. When I heard the movie was coming out, I decided to read the books too – and LOVED it.
To top it all off, the movie comes out 2 days after my daughters birthday. So not only will it be a great gift for her, its a movie that her and I are both really excited to watch. A great mother/daughter bonding time!
I purchased the books for my wife but she wasn’t that impressed with the story. Once we saw the trailer we were both anxious to see it.
My daughter has read the entire series as each book was released, talking about them to the point of annoyance. I finally read the first book since I typically have movie duty. Now I am bugging her daily to get the second book back from the friend she loaned it to so I can read it.
The books had an amazingly compelling story. I expect that the movie will be visually spectacular. And who knows… maybe Hollywood will find a good way to improve on the ending of book 3.
I’m looking forward to the movie because all the reviews say it is so great!
I’m excited to see the movie with my daughter and her entire volleyball team while we are out of town for a tournament! I haven’t read any of the books but my teenager’s excitement is contagious!!
I’m excited because I just finished reading the series in about 2 weeks and was hanging on every word. This series got me reading again. I’ve started taking the bus to work so that I’ll have more time to read.
Because of the interesting writing style that lets you find out information along with Katniss, I’m wondering how the movie will translate without revealing anything that Katniss hasn’t discovered yet.
I’m a huge fan of the books! When my sister checked the book out from our local library, I wanted to read it. She ended up NOT liking the start of the book, so I took advantage of that and started reading it. I immediatly loved it. I dreamed about it, and whenever I read this book, I felt as though I were actually there and put myself into the places of all the most exciting characters.
To conclude why I’m looking forward to the movie, I’m a huge fan and am thrilled to see how this movie replays all the great experiences I had while reading this book.
I have high hopes that they’ve actually done a good job transferring the book to film.
Looking forward to the movie coming out because my 11 yo is now obsessed! After poo-pooing her friends’ interest, curiosity overtook her. She told me yesterday that her favorite part is not the plot or character development, but rather the way that the characters’ inter-relatoinships morph and grow. She dressed as Primrose for this weekend’s Purim parade, is counting down the days to the premiere, and is choosing reading over television (hallelujah!). She would treasure the soundrack and mini-posters forever!
It was really nice to read the book and find a strong female lead. Life has been hard, but she hasn’t been fridged. I like to read dystopias and they don’t get turned into movies as often as other genres because most of them have a negative or unresolved ending, so I am looking forward to this one on the big screen.
I am very excited to see this movie. I read the trilogy in three days thanks to my recent spring break. My parents and a younger sister read it first. My mother surprised me the most by liking it (not a bookworm) so I had to follow her lead. Loved the strong f
I am very excited to see this movie. I read the trilogy in three days thanks to my recent spring break. My parents and a younger sister read it first. My mother surprised me the most by liking it (not a bookworm) so I had to follow her lead. Loved the strong females and undercurrents throughout.
It was the first good book I read in some time. I loved the strong female character of Katniss, and see her as a much better role model for our daughters and sisters then Bella from Twilight. I hope these films get bigger then them, so that our girls can see that life isn’t all about your boyfriend.
Plus, it comes out on my birthday. 🙂
Enjoyed the books.
I can’t wait to find out how they interpret all the weird styles and accent of the Capitol citizens on the big screen!
I loved the books and have heard great things about the movies. A group of girlfriends are getting together to go see it. We’re as excited as the kids!
My kids read ’em, then got us readin’ ’em. My sister and her kids all read ’em. My kids’ friends all read ’em. The action, the problem solving, but especially the looking into the character of the other contestants – wow. We all have high hopes for the movie!
I’ve read the books twice. I couldn’t set them down. I’m excited that the movie seems like it’ll be a lot like the book. I can already tell that even though there will be minor changes, most of it will be like the books.
I’m really excited about the characters coming to life, like Effie, Haymitch and Cinna. I’m really excited about seeing the arena.
The Hunger Games series is one of my favorite book series. I liked that I felt like I was Katniss, not just reading about her. I felt like I was really there in the book.
I read the book awhile ago and loved it. When I heard it was coming out as a movie I convinced several of the other mom’s in the Parent’s Club at our Library to read it. Now, we’ve planned a field trip to the movie theater…Just mom’s without kids!!
I’m looking forward to the movie because it looks like this will be one of those times a movie does a book justice! 🙂 I can’t wait!!!
My daughter and I are both really looking forward to the movie 🙂 I loved the book, and can’t wait to see it brought to life on the big screen! I love that Katniss is a strong female character who can stand on her own two feet, while still being compassionate and caring.
I am looking forward to the movie because its one of few I can go with my son and we will both enjoy it.
I interested in seeing how the movie compares to the books
It will be the first date my wife and I have had in a while.
Reasons I am looking forward to Hunger Games:
1) Been waiting FOR EVER for the movie, and while it will never be as good as the book it is still super exciting
2) I get to see it with my friends and we get to geek out together
3) Something to look forward to during the longest month of the school year 😀
Because one, they are the best books ever, two its gonna be such a wonderful, epic intense movie, and three because the plot of the books is just so amazing its gonna be really cool to see on the big screen
We have been a fan of Suzanne Collins books since Gregor the Overlander. We’re excited to see how the Hunger Games translates to film.
Finally an action movie I can take my daughter to, Katnis is our hero! Too bad her mom isn’t into them!
I don’t read a lot of books and when I picked up the hunger games I couldn’t stop and when I heard the hunger games was a movie I started the whole series again and I can’t wait for the movie.
I am soon looking forward to seeing if Gale takes off his shirt!
I really enjoyed the book; it reminded me of a deadlier, feminine Ender’s Game.
I’m really looking forward to seeing it for the reason I see so many books that have turned into film: I want to see if this collaborative effort tells the story like I think it should. Also, since the book is purely from Katniss point of view, I’m looking forward to the scenes showing observers watching from outside the games. Can’t wait for this!
because I oved the book sooo much!!!
My 13 year old and I read our way through the entire series last summer, with me a book ahead of her. I love it and she is obsessed 🙂 She was Katniss for Halloween. Out of the 20+ houses we visited w/ her and her 2 younger brothers, she only got recognized twice but the people who knew flipped out! Pictures were taken, husbands called to come see “Katniss”, etc. I’d actually bought her the pin to wear as part of her costume, but being an obsessed 13 year old, she wore it to school less than 12 hours after getting it…before the first bell had even rung it was lost forever 🙁 Many tears ensued and she had to make do with a 3″ button pin I made at work for her costume. We have 12:01 AM tickets for the Friday it’s released, first possible show in our area. She is counting own the minutes, LOL.
I LOVED the books and can’t wait for the movie to come out!
It’s the first midnight movie showing I’m taking my kid to! The next day should be awful for all, as it is a school night, but he’s nearly done with the third book and I think he’s earned it. Plus I get to go!
My daughter is so excited about this movie – she devoured the books and absolutely insisted that I read them too so she could talk about them.
I can’t wait to see the book brought to “life” in the movie.
