Artemis Returns: A Chat With Madison McLaughlin

Actress Madison McLaughlin joined the cast of ‘Arrow’ as Evelyn Sharp at the end of the fourth season and returned this year to join Team Arrow as Artemis; she turned evil and revealed that she was working undercover for bad guy Prometheus a few episodes back and has not been seen since. Producer Marc Guggenheim tweeted that Artemis returns to the show this week. I had the opportunity to ask her a few questions about her career.

Impressive Archer Shows Real Skills

YouTube channel Smarter Every Day has posted a video of Alabama archer Byron Ferguson demonstrating his skills. In contrast to some other archers, he doesn’t spend any time making grandiose claims about his own skills or offering insulting assertions about modern target archers; he just steps up and shows what good instinctive archery looks like.

“Hawkeye, World’s Worst Archer” – The Rest of the Story

Back in March of 2012, when GeekDad was still part of Wired, I wrote an article about Hawkeye’s actual archery ability as seen in the trailers and publicity photos for the Avengers. The article got a lot of page-views, and I heard from some readers; I got some nice emails from people who liked it, a few from people who wanted to argue some of my points, and one hilarious message full of invective and profanity from somebody who was outraged that I would malign his favorite superhero. Recently I got an email from somebody who read it and had a different reaction. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug – Tauriel the Elven Archer
