Last night, while the Earth was dark and still, Nintendo of America unexpectedly released information about the upcoming (and long-delayed) Nintendo Switch Online service.
While the features list includes much of what we’ve previously been told, such as online play support and a library of NES titles, there was a handful of surprises. Chief among them was the inclusion of cloud backup for game save data—which the gaming community has been clamoring for since the system’s launch—and, of special interest of us family gamers, an 8-person family membership subscription package.
At $34.99, it’s a honey of a deal—especially compared to the multiple $20/year individual membership plans I had planned to have to purchase for myself and my geeklings.
