laikaexperience-mainI wasn’t fortunate enough to catch From Coraline to Kubo: A Magical LAIKA Experience when it first hit Universal Studios Hollywood this past summer, but things are looking up for us. The Experience is returning to Universal Studios Hollywood for a limited holiday engagement from December 21, 2016 through January 15, 2017.

The Experience is an interactive exhibition that gives guests a ton of behind-the-scenes looks at all of LAIKA’s great films including CoralineParaNorman, The Boxtrolls, and Kubo and the Two Strings. There are four themed rooms–one for each film–that give a visitor a real feel for the evolution of LAIKA’s signature style and artistry.

If you are a fan of any of LAIKA’s films (or all of them, like our family) or even if you’re just a fan of stop-motion animation, this exhibition is something you do not want to miss out on. There are a ton of actual props and models from the movies you’ll get to see up close. And because access to this exhibit  is included with admission to the park, you can also experience all of the other great geekdoms at Universal Studios like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™, The Walking Dead daytime attraction, and Despicable Me Minion Mayem.

For me, personally, I haven’t gotten a chance to visit Universal Studios Hollywood since the days they had Spiderman and Transformers walking around (yes, that really did happen), and the combination of Harry Potter and Kubo are enough to entice our family to visit during our winter holiday trip to California. And right now, you can get two days for just $119 as an online exclusive.
