Marvel Collector Corps Spider-Man Edition: Threat or Menace?

Apparel Products Reviews Toys

Back in June, I reviewed Marvel Collector Corps, powered by Funko. I loved it, but I did not realize they hadn’t added me for just June. So you can imagine my reaction when I came home yesterday and saw this on my porch:

Face front, True Believer!

So, you might ask, what’s in the box?If you subscribe and don’t have it yet, stop reading here. If not, do read on.

As always, you open it to find a pin (dibsed by my daughter) and a patch. The patch uses a “new rounded design.” I don’t know how I feel about that, but I’m anticipating adding this and future patches to a jacket I own.

Since the last box was largely claimed by my daughter, I told myself my son would get most of this box. At five (“an free quatahs!”), he’s a big Spider-Man fan. Of course, that does not include the very nicely designed Spider-Man bobble head POP! figure. Interestingly, he is Funko’s 10th Spidey. They wanted to do something a little different this time, so they posed him as leaping. This is a nice variation from your basic POP! design of “just standing there.”

I wanted to make this my fearured image, but you know, spoilers.

The second atypical thing was a very cool Spider-Man hat. It won’t fit my son, so, you know, I’ll just keep that. And yes, I do intend to wear this collectible hat. I’m a monster, I know.

Also? Kind of a mean dad. But one with a snazzy hat!

Thankfully, the final portion of the box is perfect for my son. A massive (for a box thing), Funko Fabrikation of Spidey. This thing is seriously huge. Gloriously so. I was surprised to not see a Spider-Man in the Fabrikations line, and now I know why–they were saving him for this. For which I thank them, because my son will go insane for this.

EDIT:Yes, he did. He really did. Also note that this is ages 14 and up, officially. Use your judgment. I wish I had a photo of his face when he got this.

He has the proportionate adorability of a spidey!

On top of that, there’s also a collector cover of Amazing Spider-Man , which is the most recent issue as of this writing. Nice touch.

After two months of getting these, I have come to the conclusion that MCC is absolutely worth it. So far each box has had something for my entire family. I look forward to checking out the Dr. Strange themed October box (synergy with theatrical releases is an MCC standard). If you’ve been on the fence, I suggest you try ordering that one as a one-off.

Note: All photos have been taken by me, with the new Honor 8. What do you think?

More Important Note: This box and future boxes were provided by Funko for review purposes.
