Go-Robo, Software for WowWee

Geek Culture

I’ve taken exactly one crack at programming a WowWee robot.  I used an IR transmitter on my linux box and attempted to script the right remote codes to command the robot.  The effort was mostly a failure because the Robosapien would occasionally drop commands.

Designed for kids and schools, the Go-Robo software promises to ease a lot of the pain in automating your WowWee robots.  I’m not sure why I didn’t find this last time I went looking, but it’s good to find it now that I’m considering adding a Femisapien to the herd.  I’ll be sure to post more when I’ve had a chance to test out the software and see what it can do.

And just for those who don’t like paying for software, there’s a free package, Robodance,  that offers support for some of the iSobots, and some older WowWee bots.  The next version promises support for a lot more robots.
