As the drawing was useless, I looked at the letters provided and saw that they could make the word:
But I was wrong.
Looking through the letters a few more times, I was able to (finally!) guess the correct answer:
That got me thinking, and led me to this week’s GeekDad Puzzle of the Week: Which set of 12 letters can make the most 8 letter words?
Each letter in the every target 8-letter word has to be one of the twelve, and duplicates are allowed only if also duplicated in the set of 12 letters. That is, “CHAINSAW” cannot be made from “CHAINSWLMNOP” as there is only a single “A” present.
As always, please send in your responses to GeekDad Central. This week’s prize of a $50 Gift Certificate from the fine folks at ThinkGeek will be given out to the winner chosen at random from the set of correct (or at least reasonably well-reasoned) answers.
Good luck, and happy puzzling!
