September is World Kid Lit Month, and I am glad to say that we can present several bilingual books, books in translation, and at least one nonfiction book here—the works hail from Germany, Spain, and South Korea. Bilingual books feature English and Spanish.

This is, to my memory, the first time Shaun Tan has combined so many words with one of his stories. Usually, they are all about how a picture can convey more than a thousand words.
In this case, though, words add to the imagery, taking it to new horizons and making for an unforgettable story. A girl lives in a perfect world, with loving family and endless adventures, so much so that everything seems routine to her, even when it is not.
What would happen if a stranger told you everything you hold dear is not yours after all? That you belong somewhere else? Will you leave everything you know and love behind? The ending surprised me a lot, so I won’t spoil it here.
