Those in attendance at this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con International are sure to experience all the thrills, chills, specialty programming, and mind-boggling crowds that only the world’s premiere pop culture event can provide. Of course, that’s not all this particular convention has to offer; attendees also get first crack at all that sweet SDCC-exclusive merch!
While many fan-favorite celebs and brands are sure to be in attendance, those planning their route through the bustle of the con floor should take special care to hit up booth 3247, as this is the temporary home of plushie manufacturer extraordinaire Symbiote Studios.
With licenses ranging from independent video games to long-running media franchises, Symbiote makes wonderfully soft, unbelievably cool plush toys sure to be a hit in any playroom or office cubicle. This year’s SDCC exclusives include Trixie from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Battle Damage Sludge from Transformers: The Movie, and dress-up Catnip Bravo and Kabao Bear, two of Symbiote’s own homegrown characters.

Symbiote was nice enough to send over the magical, majestical Trixie—which thrilled my teenage daughter to no end. A life-long FIM purist, she was especially impressed by Trixie’s embellished cape and removable hat. (The latter of which she has been incessantly trying to place on the head of our housecat… despite his continued resistance.) Unspursingly, it’s another stellar product from one of my family’s go-to purveyors of fine plushies.
So visit Symbiote Studios at vendor booth 3247, pick up a little something for the kids back home, and be sure to tell ’em GeekDad sent you!
