Anansi Boys #2 | Writer: Neil Gaiman, Marc Bernardin | Artist: Shawn Martinbrough | Colorist: Chris Sotomayor | Letterer: Jim Campbell | Cover Artist: David Mack
Anansi Boys #2 is the second issue adapting the marvelous Anansi Boys into graphic form. It’s a book that I highly recommend—that deservedly won a Locus Award. It’s one I′ve read and re-read many times, and I hope that you will see why in a second.
Fat Charlie’s father was a god, and he has passed away. Those two major pieces of information seem to collide inside his head, and all the women who knew his father are telling him tall tales about how he was a trickster god. Things like how he once tricked his brother Tiger into killing his mother-in-law, and how he managed to win the lottery whenever he needed cash.
They also tell him he has a brother, and that, if he wants to meet him, he should tell a spider. That’s all nonsense in Fat Charlie’s opinion.
So, he is back at his job at the Grahame Coats Agency and back to his fiancée, just trying to put these bizarre events behind him.
Will he be able to, though?
Anansi Boys #2 is available on July 31, 2024.

Important note: Neil Gaiman is facing some serious accusations and has disappeared from social media for the time being. I wonder if he is going the Warren Ellis way, which I found better than total cancellation.
