Trailer Theater: Wrinkles, Uprisings, and More

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Deeper dives into the strangely rich and exciting March film slate loom heavy in the latest edition of Trailer Theater, with your look at the best film, TV, and streaming trailers of the past couple of weeks.

Coming soon to a theater near you…

A Wrinkle in Time – I didn’t think it was possible, but each trailer for Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time gets better and better. I’m looking forward to taking my girls to see this when it hits theaters on March 23rd.

Pacific Rim: Uprising – Without Guillermo del Toro at the helm, my optimism for this one remains cautious. At least the trailers make this Pacific Rim sequel look like a fun time. John Boyega is perfect casting. Uprising is due in theaters on March 23rd.

Tomb Raider – A new Tomb Raider movie would be a boring idea if it didn’t look like such a perfect adaptation of the newest incarnation of the video game series. Catch it in theaters on March 16th.

Ready Player One – This new featurette, with Ernest Cline waxing poetic about Spielberg and Spielberg himself returning the praise, is just another solid reason why you shouldn’t miss Ready Player One when it releases on March 30th.

I Kill Giants –  A film adaptation of Joe Kelly and J. M. Ken Niimura’s Image Comics series of the same name, about a young, D&D obsessed girl and her fight against unseen evil forces.

The Death of Stalin – I was fortunate enough to catch a sneak preview of Armando Iannucci’s (Veep) latest, and I can say that this is political satire at its best and most absurdly relevant. Catch it in theaters this March.

Coming soon to a streaming device or TV…

The Handmaid’s Tale – The best new series of 2017 returns to Hulu with season 2 this April.

Fahrenheit 451 – HBO is premiering a film adaptation of the Bradbury classic this spring. Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon star with Ramin Bahrani (Chop Shop) directing what I’m sure will be an amazing film with sad relevance.

Andre the Giant – Most anticipated documentary of 2018!

Silicon Valley – Season 5 of everyone’s favorite tech industry comedy premiers on HBO March 25th.
