We Are Entertained: War for the Planet of the Apes

The boys get their ape on this week and check out the third installment (Ninth installment?) of the Planet of the Apes franchise, War for the Planet of the Apes. An incredible discussion ensues about the future of individual Academy Awards and the motion-capture industry. How do you think Andy Serkis fits into the conversations about best performance?

Richard is once again entertained this week by Netflix’s astonishing algorithms. He tunes in to a fantastic Anime flick called Blame! (pronounced, apparently, BLAM!) and leaves us wondering just how big the solar system really is.

Chris punches another Ron Howard classic from his list and watches Cinderella Man. Matt once again astounds the crew with his encyclopedic knowledge of entertainment industry trivia and Renee Zellweger is probably lost as a fan of the show forever. Also, this is a true story? Unbelievable!

Matt rounds things out with a surprising return to Hulu for movie watching purposes (they have movies?). Mads Mikkelsen takes on the terrifying role of a Kindergarten teacher accused of inappropriate activity with a student. Yikes. Let me just tell you that even writing that makes me incredibly uncomfortable. Can this film score a recommendation from Matt or is it Steer Clear material?
