Sid & Marty Krofft’s Mutt & Stuff (on Nickelodeon) has become something of a stop for interesting guest star cameos. On today’s episode (Friday 9:30 am EST/PST), “Doggie Mermaid Island,” Beverly D’Angelo continues that tradition.
We’ve talked about Mutt & Stuff before, notably when we chatted with legendary creators Sid and Marty Krofft about their careers and downright refusal to retire.
The show has much of the Krofft’s sometimes off-the-wall sensibilities, paired with the family-friendly nature of Nickelodeon. But if your preschoolers like dogs, they’ll probably love Mutt & Stuff.
Beverly D’Angelo makes a surprise appearance as a mermaid in the premiere week finale episode for Sid & Marty Krofft’s Mutt & Stuff. In the episode, D’Angelo plays Coral, a mermaid who is trying to bring Pearl–a half-dog, half-fish who is very shy–out of his shell. The class comes to Doggy Mermaid Island to help Pearl overcome her first‐day‐of‐school jitters.
