We play games. It’s what my family does. For us, it is ritual.
We play together–maybe not always in the same game world, but inevitably in the same space. Sometimes sharing that physical space is even more important than the sharing of virtual space. We can interact with each other even as we carve out our own gaming experiences.
So, when Nintendo asked specifically for my kids’ impressions of the latest Animal Crossing game for the 3DS, Happy Home Designer, it only seemed appropriate to set up my field recorder to capture the events as they unfold.
