Stealth Elf Series 3 from Skylanders Swap Force
Having processed the information from the New York launch event for Skylanders Swap Force a picture is emerging of the likely elements of the game’s Starter Pack.
The ever popular and surprisingly resilient Stealth Elf leads the charge here. Back in her fourth iteration after Series 1, Series 2 and Legendary versions, this Series 3 figure is dressed in a black ninja outfit with upgraded blades.
To enable players to start mixing and matching straight away the Swap Force Starter pack will include two Swap Force figures. It seems likely that this will be Wash Buckler and Magna Force. Not only are these the figures most talked about in preview demonstrations but their abilities also compliment each other well. Wash Buckler is slower and with more powerful close combat attacks while Magna Force is faster with weaker ranged attacks.
This being a starter pack it will obviously include the game as well as the new Portal of Power. This will again be a wired version but unlike previous versions of Skylanders you will not be able to use your existing portal with the game.
The technology of the Swap Force characters has necessitated a change in the Portal. As you can see in the video, Activision have taken this opportunity to slim down the design with a more modern look. It again comes with a long USB cable so you can position the portal anywhere in the room. The new portal will support all the existing figures from Giants and Spyro’s Adventure.
There is of course still time for them to adjust the contents of the Starter Pack for Skylanders Swap Force, but if I were a betting man these are the figures I’d gamble on being included. Now, I wonder what odds you’d get for that?
