  1. Loved the books, really looking forward to seeing how it’s put together on the big screen.

  2. Looking forward to see how an un-narrated, first person story that is this emotionally involved will translate to movie form!

  3. I’ve been looking forward to the movie since I heard about it. the books were such an engaging read, I’m excited to see how the movie will fare!

  4. My wife and I are newcomers to the series, but after reading the first book, we are super excited for the movie.

  5. I’m looking forward to seeing The Hunger Games with my wife. This was the last book series that we read together and we both have been eagerly awaiting the movie since we found out about the movie a couple weeks after finishing the books.

  6. I was given a copy of Hunger Games about 9 months before it was published to review and I’ve been hooked ever since. I might even be swayed to find a babysitter and actually go on a date with my hubby for the first time in months.

  7. I’m excited because it’s a multi-generational story with a lot of appeal, bringing a “Survivor” them crossed with Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery” to the big screen. Its one for moms and daughters to see together and this one actually has a plot!!

  8. I always enjoy seeing if the movie can compete with the book. Looking forward to this one!

  9. I read the first book for my book club and loved it so much that I had to finish the next two. I am re-reading them all in preparation of the movie. Our local theater is showing the movie at midnight on Thursday and I will be first in line! Addicting!

  10. I’m interested to see how they pull off the very violent themes while still making it a rating of only PG-13.

  11. So my daughter can stop obsessing and counting down the days until it opens! Already have opening night tickets for the whole family.

  12. I really want to read the books before I see the movie but the library is all checked out with a waiting list, the good news is that I’m supposed to be having a baby this week so the chances of me actually getting to the movie theatre to see it are slim.

  13. I refuse to be super-excited about the movie because that’s always dangerous with a movie based on a well-loved book 🙂 So, consider me moderately excited… I’m mostly excited about the strong female character of Katniss and how excited the teenagers at my library are about the movie and the series as a whole.

  14. I’m looking forward to the going to the 12:01a movie with my teenage daughter. We loved the books.

  15. I can’t wait for the movie! I need to find out my my kids are so bent on getting archery supplies and building lean-to’s in the woods…my tweeter as gone survivalist because if these books!

Me, I just want to dress up like Effie 😀

  16. My 16 YO daughter has read and re-read the books. I’m in grad school and have not had time to read them, so I look forward to a “crash course” by watching the movie with her (she can fill in the bits left out of the movie)

  17. I’m interested in seeing a non-romantic movie with an awesome female lead. The books are on the top of my reading list after I graduate this spring.

  18. I’m a pastor at a Presbyterian church and I lead the youth group. The Hunger Games trilogy has made the rounds with the youth and plans are in place to attend the midnight showing of the movie.

I’m personally looking forward to the movie because I think the books were a bit sparse on details and I hope the movie will visually and emotionally flesh the story out a bit.

  19. I’m looking forward to seeing the movie because I fell in love with the book specially with the character of Katniss. She’s so brave, smart and protective of her family. A true inspiration to all women. I’m also excited to see the scenes that have touched me. The reaping, the death of Rue and the list of my favorite scenes could go on. Actually, everything about the movie makes me so much excited! 🙂

  20. Few movies coming out nowadays have as much potential; the source material is simply so rich that a movie adaptation in good hands stands to be one of the standout cinematic events of this year.

  21. I havent read the book yet and I’m looking forward to seeing the movie so it can be my gateway into the books

  22. I’m looking forward to seeing and discussing the movie with my 13-year-old daughter. I always enjoying listening to her impressions of movies and music.

  23. I’m looking forward to the movie with hope they were able to convey Katniss as she is in the books.

  24. It was filmed partially in Asheville, NC, where I’m from, so I can’t wait to see some of the local locations in the film.

I think the casting is really good for the movie too, and can’t wait to see them bring the book to life on the big screen!

  25. I’m looking forward to seeing the movie with my 12 y.o. son because we both think the trailers have been awesome!

  26. I have read the series twice now, and the timely, serious, and important themes discussed in the books resonate soundly with me, and are very important to me. I know that the movies will be well-made, based on what I have seen already and the incredible cast and crew assembled for the films, and I know that I will enjoy watching them succeed on an action standpoint if nothing else. However, I am very curious to see how well the themes of the nature of violence, PTSD, power, interdependence, loyalty, and friendship show in the films. These are difficult themes under any circumstances, but especially for a film directed at young adults. We’ve all seen movies that were entertaining but missed the opportunity to be something more than just that, and I hope that Hunger Games can pull it off!

  27. My 14-year-old daughter just devoured all three books in sequence, and is really excited about the movies. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to watch them with her!

  28. I’m a huge reader and have been trying to get my daughter into books for so long. This is the first book she told me she couldn’t put down and had to read all the way to the end. She actaully begged me me to buy the other books in the series. Any book that can do that for our family I’m beyond excited to take her to the movie for. It will be interesting to see how the book compares to the movie in her eyes, being that this was her first must read book.

  29. I still need to read the books first! I’ve read so many good things about them, mainly from Melissa Wiley’s blog. However, since I rarely see movies in the theater, I still have some time to read the books before I have a chance of seeing the movie.

  30. My daughter loved the books. My son saw the preview and he got excited about it. He may read the books.

  31. I can’t wait for the movie!!
The craze is growing around me and its infectious!
I hope I win this for my sister 🙂

  32. I read all three books in a week and after watching the trailers for the Hunger Games I’ve been counting down the days to the release date. The books contain great character development and after all the reading, I feel like I know the characters personally. 😀 I’m so excited!

  33. I read the entire TRILOGY in a week. I could not put the books down. From day one, I fell in love with Katniss. I have 3 sisters so I can relate to Katniss’s urge to volunteer for Prim in the Hunger Games. I am looking forward to seeing how Jacob’s and Peta’s relationships with Katniss are protrayed in the movie. Also, it should be interesting to see how ridiculous drunken Haymitch is depicted as well.

  34. After my wife read the first book and loved it I had to see what the hype was about. I really enjoyed the series, not sure how I felt about the ending.

  35. My daughter & her friends are all into “The Hunger Games”. As an involved Mom, I read the first book, and absolutely COULDN’T put it down! I was holding my eyes open all night – and now I have to wait for the library order to come in! My daughter and I are having so much fun talking about “The Hunger Games” during our afterschool walks, and when she has her friends over, it is such a thrill to have something we are all soooooo into!!!!! If we were lucky enough to win, my daughter gets the pin (like I have a chance!) & cards, and maybe then I can read all three books in a row. I’m dying to find out more! and the soundtrack would be a once in a lifetime keepsake to share during my daughter’s upcoming Birthday!!! Respectfully yours, ShawnaLee

    1. OOps – and of course, after reading the first book, and dying to read the other two, we just CAN’T WAIT to see how all of the characters have been translated for the movie, and how all of Katniss’s thoughts are revealed!!!! A movie to LOOK FORWARD TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  36. My teen aged daughter and I shared the books and thoroughly enjoyed them. (Once we got hooked on the first one I purchased the subsequent books as soon as they came out.) We’re looking forward to sharing the movie experience.

  37. Because winning this may be my last chance to look cool (or at least useful) to my 13 year old daughter.

  38. Looking forward to seeing it with my daughters, who will then, hopefully, cut back on talking about the Hunger Games movie 24/7.

  39. I’ve been looking forward to the movie ever since I read the books, but now even more so. I was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, and (and at the age of 31) I had surgery where my appendix, spleen, and gall bladder were removed, as well as a complete hysterectomy. I am currently recovering from this surgery and all of my friends and I are praying I will be well enough to go see it in theaters. I have a little less than two weeks to get well…

  40. My wife loaned me the books and I enjoyed them. I hope the movie will stay true to the character interact and not try to stray off course.

  41. I am looking forward to seeing how they are going to convert all th e ways I pictured the aren, the capitol, and just everything for a viewing audience. Kind of like seeing Hogwarts for the first time in HP1 or the realm of the elves in Lord of The Rings. It is going to be quite an expirence.

  42. I loved the books and can’t wait for the film. It will be interesting to see how they translate some of the stuff in the book to the screen.

  43. Every so often a book series comes out that just draws people together and the Hunger Games is the latest one in our household. It started with friends of my daughter, then it hooked my wife until she sat up until 1 AM finishing it and now I’m getting pulled in!

While I haven’t finished the first one yet (while the others in the family are going rabid trying to get the others) so far I like what I see in their depiction of Catnip (Katniss). She’s strong, like I want my daughters to be (without me having to die that is… 😉 ) I am hopeful they are able to capture this in a way that is realistic and something she can relate to.

What helps bring part of the book to life is that my oldest and youngest daughters are the same age as Katniss and Prim when their father died. That, I think, helps make those origins more realistic in my oldest’s mind. Plus, she likes cats so much I’ve been calling her “Catnip” lately 😉

  44. I am looking forward to a date night with my hubby! He read the books and is as excited as me to see it realized on screen.
