Last week I posted about my upcoming participation in the Run For Your Lives 5k obstacle course on March 3rd just outside Atlanta. I’m hoping that all Atlanta-area GeekDad.com readers who are intending to run will sign up and join my team — I’ve selected the 11am Wave and the group name is “Team Geek Dad.” If you want to join, choose that 11am run time when you register and we’ll get a group picture made to post on the follow-up blog post.
If anyone has some ideas for how we might want to dress up for the event, please share it here. In addition to a possible Geek Dad theme for our team, I’ll also be carrying along two pieces of tech: a Looxcie camera that attaches to my cap (versus wearing the over-the-ear version that will obviously get damaged and lost) and a BodyMedia personal health stat monitoring device that will allow me to monitor my stats on a bluetooth phone. (Probably a bad idea to carry my phone, but then again, so is running a 5k on a cold March morning with zombies chasing me…)
Okay, so now for the winners of the two free tickets to run, selected at random from those commenters who added “I want to run with Team Geek Dad” in their comment:
First Winner: Joe Brown
Second Winner: Ashley Stewart
Winners can contact me by email. I’ll put you in touch with my contact at the RFYL event to get scheduled. Everyone else who will be participating, please also email me if you plan on running the 11am wave and we can coordinate a rendezvous point and discuss tactics for surviving.
More details about the Run For Your Lives events can be found on the RFYL website.
