Filming of The Avengers is underway here in Cleveland, and the week’s off to an action-packed start.
(That clip looks like it comes from the employees at Medical Mutual of Ohio, which has been posting photos and video from the shooting on the company Facebook wall.)
And if some of the set pieces in next summer’s follow-up to Captain America look a little familiar, it’s because the same area was used to film scenes from Spider-Man 3, including parts of the Sandman’s attack on the armored car:

I was lucky enough to work right downtown during that shoot, but I don’t know yet if I’ll be able to make it to the area this time around.
Cleveland.com has been posting video regularly, though – including some good ground-level footage of extras fleeing while the explosions are heard in the background, and a YouTube search turns up even more angles, like this one, shot, as it happens, from almost the same place I photographed a fake subway entrance on the Spider-Man street scene.
