Tuesday, Harman officially introduced the JBL OnDock, a device that will dock with any iOS device and delivers rich, dynamic sound from your iPad, iPhone or iPod. The OnDock is intended to serve not only as your room’s entertainment source, but also provides the ability to present Skype calls, Netflix streaming and other video clip viewing in a way you’ve never seen before.
The trick is that the OnDock can hold your device in portrait orientation, as seen above, for a Skype chat or as you read a book, while listening to your music on its dual 4 watt speakers. But, should your mood change, simply rotate your iPad into landscape orientation and watch a movie. Pretty slick, huh?
The OnDock also features a USB jack for synching and charging, a 3.5mm auxilliary jack and will be available in April only at Apple Stores and Best Buy. The OnDock will retail for $150.
