So yes, the news broke this weekend that director Zack Snyder will be delivering a full-fledged Justice League movie right on the heels of the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film we’ve all been hearing about for the last couple months. Indeed, we’ve been getting a steady trickle of casting rumors that suggested BvS is going to include first looks at many of the JLA characters we know and love from the comics, so this only makes sense.

Welcome to week five of Flashpoint! This week, I’m looking at Flashpoint: The World of Flashpoint – Featuring Superman, written by Lowell A. Francis and Scott Snyder. This graphic novel takes us a little deeper into what Superman gets up to while war breaks out across Earth. We also check in with a few other famous DC faces, including: Booster Gold, Traci Thirteen, Jason Todd, and Guy Gardner. On a frustrating note, Lois Lane once again gets cheated out of any meaningful face time, but by this point, I think I’m getting used to it.

A Look Back at My First Experiences in the Comic Book World

As the DC Comics New 52 Justice League and Justice League International Volume 1 are released, I’ve been looking back at my first experiences in the comic book world. Since January, a few of my articles ended up on DC Comics Facebook page, I met both Tony Bedard and Dan Didio, and I made a new comic book friend in Bill McCray. Comic Book Corner on GeekMom is going strong and I enjoy not only contributing, but also reading the other GeekMoms’ take on the comic book world.

DC New 52: A Newbie’s Point of View

When DC announced their new 52 series, I was ecstatic. I have always wanted to get into reading the Superman, Batman, and the Justice League comics. What scared me out of getting into it was all the history I didn’t know. The new 52 gave me what I was looking for…a fresh start with all my favorite comic book characters. I would like to think I know a lot about Batman and the others, but the truth is I am a complete newbie to their comic book worlds.
