Ease of Build

On a scale of 1–5, the figure sets were an easy 1, with mainly just accessories for the figures. As usual, one of the biggest challengesfor the kids was putting the tires onto the wheels for the car and trailer because they do take a little extra finger strength and dexterity to get on properly and required my assistance making that set a 2. The waterpark is also a 2, leaning into a 3 only because the kids had a little confusion on putting together all of the various vertical supports for the tower as there are several sizes that are similar and require specific placement on the bases for each type and size of post.

Coolest Features

Taffy! We absolutely have to call out Malibu Barbie’s puppy first and foremost. The kids immediately “argued” about who got to play with Taffy first.

Most kids seem to love toys and water together, so the jetski being able to float and the waterpark actually being able to be filled with water were definitely two of the big highlights for the kids. Apparently there is an optional motor that can be attached to the jetski (and the boat set we did not receive), which the kids REALLY want to try out. The trapdoor feature on the waterslide to launch figures down was also a big hit.

We also love seeing diversity in Playmobil sets, and these were no exception getting two Black women out of the five figures was unexpected and very appreciated by our daughter because representation matters!

The last thing I wanted to point out which is just a subtle little thing in one of the stickers, is the ticket booth pricing. Firstly, it was cool to see the acknowledgment that even disabled people would want to enjoy a waterpark (at a discounted rate even). Also, this was a great opportunity for some hidden math exercises – getting the kids to figure out how much of a deal the family pack and large group rate was.
