Renovations at a local abbey have resulted in the death of one of the workers, and now, a monster is hiding, nervous, expecting a reckoning.
This is the first time I got to see the death of a monster as a tragic event, witnessed by people who knew him and loved him, including his wife.
I loved how the story doesn’t overexplain what happens. There is a conflicted wife, and there are nuns who have always been tolerant of this monster, as someone they have met since childhood, but little else is offered, only the confrontation and the inevitable result.
