JSAUX Provides the Ultimate Switch 2 Travel Kit in 3 Easy Pieces

Products Reviews Videogames

Earlier this year, I got turned onto JSAUX Gaming, a Chinese firm specializing in mobile gaming accessories. Their recent focus on the Nintendo Switch 2 and my lingering obsession with said system made ours a particularly advantageous meeting of the minds.

Whether due to some ingenious planning on their part or a simple coincidence of release dates, I discovered that JSAUX’s latest accessories make for a perfect Nintendo Switch 2 travel pack.

Safety and Comfort: Split Everyday Case

While I continue to espouse the wonders of the JSAUX high-density ModCase, my teenage daughter was quick to point out that even the less bulky Split Protective Case felt like a little too much in her hands during lengthy play sessions. For those looking for a slimmer option with increased comfort that still doesn’t scrimp on the protection, JSAUX has just released the Split Everyday Case.

Its modular four-piece design includes individual ergonomic Joy-Con 2 grips and a snap-on back plate (à la the Split Protective Case), but it replaces that oversized, clip-on face cover with a softer, slimmer front flap that easily attaches and detaches via concealed magnets.

This affords users a svelte profile overall that’s nicely dockable, and, while you lose access to the integrated kickstand because of the protective backplate, it includes a pocket-friendly adjustable stand that supports the system well at multiple angles.

Quality-wise, this piece is on par with the other JSAUX cases I’ve reviewed, and if you don’t mind losing the cartridge storage included in the Split Protective Case/ModCase, it’s a nicely elegant solution. In fact, it’s the closest thing I’ve found to Nintendo’s OEM Switch Lite Flip Cover (which is sort of the gold standard for that system) that accommodates the Switch 2.

My only minor gripe is that the Split Everyday Case‘s magnetic attachment mechanism doesn’t automatically shift the detachable cover to its precise position, meaning it wasn’t uncommon for us to seat it incorrectly when attaching it in a hurry. Still, at $34.99, it’s a spectacular case at a fair price.

Perfect Proportions: Crossbody Sling Bag

While not exclusively built for the Switch 2 (it can accommodate the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, or Legion Go), the JSAUX Crossbody Sling Bag has become my new daily carry, and it’s honestly my favorite grab-and-go carrier in recent memory.

At around 12″ x 4.5″ x 6″, its external dimensions are substantial without being cumbersome, and it offers solid protection while still maintaining a sleek footprint. It boasts two purpose-built compartments, as well as a discreet zippered back pocket for incidentals like your wallet or phone.

The front compartment features double zipper-pulls and an elastic retainer pouch to keep things in place. While ostensibly for power adapter storage, I’ve come to use mine as an easy and accessible place to store my headphones and two or three specialty cables that tend to get lost or tangled in larger spaces.

The main compartment, though, is where the magic happens. The outer flap has another elastic retainer that nicely accommodates an emergency charger or secondary system like the 3DS, and there’s a deep-set area of reinforced storage at the bottom for bulkier charge bricks or an extra controller. An inner separator also has elastic storage flaps for eight Switch/Switch 2-style cartridges, separated into two groups of four by a strip of Velcro-style loops.

Then there’s its biggest selling point, its system storage space. Generously sized without dwarfing your handheld, it holds your Switch 2 in pretty much anything but the most ridiculous system case. Obviously, it accommodates the Split Everyday Case well, but I can also confirm that the JSAUX ModCase fits perfectly.

A reinforced “Joystick guard” at the bottom of the compartment prevents the bag from compressing in on your precious cargo, and an optional L-shaped support buttress (which attaches to that Velcro strip I mentioned earlier) further helps to keep any undue pressure off the upper end of the system.

Composed largely of an elastic PVC (with some fleece lining in the console area), the Crossbody Sling Bag isn’t exactly made of luxury materials, but this is reflected in the $39.99 list price. While I can’t exactly comment on its long-term durability, I will say I’ve been carrying it daily for more than a month now, and the zippers, strap clasp, and semi-gloss black exterior have all held up perfectly thus far.

A Mobile Must-Have: OmniCentro Charger Dock

Last and certainly not least, we have JSAUX’s pièce de resistance, the OmniCentro Charger Dock. If you have any sort of gaming presence represented in your social media feed, you’ve likely already seen any number of glossy, slickly produced short-form videos about this little miracle.

The OmniCentro claims to be an all-in-one system for power, transfer, and display—all this in a device roughly the size of a travel charger alone. With a foldable plug alongside USB-A, USB-C, and HDMI ports, it’s a portable powerhouse that actually delivers on its promise.

Just plug it into a wall socket, detach your Joy-Con 2 controllers from the Switch 2 unit, attach your USB-C to USB-C cable between your system and the OmniCentro, then connect via HDMI to your television. That’s it! You get 4K@120Hz visuals on the go without having to haul around that massive first-party dock.

This is in addition to the device’s 65W USB-C Fast Charging, 5V/0.6A (3W) for USB-A peripherals, oh, and it also works with the OG Switch, ROG Ally, and many other portables that support video out via USB-C.

It’s important to remember, though, that the OmniCentro doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of the original Switch 2 dock, like the integrated cooling fan. Further, the Switch family of systems has had a rather tumultuous relationship with third-party docking solutions. While we certainly don’t know if future firmware updates to the system could interfere with the OmniCentro, JSAUX at least offers that their device includes over-current, short-circuit, over-voltage, and high-voltage protection to keep your Switch 2 safe.

At $45.99, it’s less than half the price of purchasing a second OEM dock. Obviously, it isn’t exactly an apples-to-apples comparison, as the first-party dock boasts that cooling fan, LAN connector, and a form factor tailored to the Switch 2, but at that price, the OmniCentro Charger Dock is the perfect pick-up for all your travel needs.
