Ray – 9.5/10
Ray: The Green Lantern franchise has been building things up again over the last year, with Oa restored to being a hub not just for the Greens, but now for all the Corps in an uneasy truce. The result has been chaos – and most of the major characters getting new roles. One of the oddest being Guy Gardner, who has returned from the DC KO tournament with a strange ability to see the Emotional Spectrum entities – as adorable baby critters. This has given him the new name “The All-Sight”, as well as a surprising number of worshippers who think he’s a prophet, but it’s also driving him a little nuts. The entities are still out there, seemingly reborn since their death at Starbreaker’s hands, so Jessica Cruz wants him to track them down – and he picks an elite team of Lanterns from each Corps to do so, just as long as they can keep from killing each other along the way.

The team includes Guy, plus Razer, Larfleeze, Sinestro, Fatality, and Ellie Stewart, representing all the corps besides Violet. But as they try to take on the Indigo entity first, they come up against a major obstacle – it’s located in Manhunter space, and the ancient robotic space police are still programmed to hunt Lanterns on cue. But the first entity found isn’t even by them – there’s another great storyline involving John Stewart and Katma-Tui, who have been playing house and are running into some trouble now. John agrees to take Katma to her home on Korugar where she’s been missing, and they soon wind up watching a street-fighting tournament. But the arrival of a familiar face from Green Lantern lore – with some creepy yellow glowing eyes – indicates that the entities aren’t just reborn, they’re back to possessing people. This is a great, packed issue with a ton of new plot threads.
