For people who work out of the home and can’t afford to go out and buy a meal everyday, or don’t have the time, lunch can be a monotonous meal where one eats to satiate hunger pains and get enough energy to make it through the rest of the work day. The cold sandwich, a trusted lunchtime staple, can get old over time. Sometimes it is nice to have a hot, mid-day meal. I remember when I was in elementary school, taking a thermos container of pre-heated chili or canned raviolis. However, by the time lunch arrived, my meal had assumed room temperature. Even today as an adult, I rarely have time to leave my space to go to a common lunchroom to heat a meal and then still have time to enjoy it. Therefore, I was excited to try out the new LunchGO G1 Smart Electric Heated Lunch Box which promises to have your meal hot and ready for when you want to eat.

Why You Should Get the LunchGO G1 Smart Electric Heated Lunch Box

I have had the opportunity to use the LunchGO G1 Smart Electric Heated Lunch Box for a few weeks. The night before my first test, we had spaghetti for dinner so I made sure to make extra so I would have some for lunch. At the end of the meal, I put the spaghetti into the steel container, sealed it with the lid, and placed it in the refrigerator overnight while charging the heating unit. The next morning, I took the container of spaghetti out of the refrigerator, connected it to the heating unit and set the time I wanted to eat. I had already set all of the other settings. Next I placed it all in the carrying bag along with the ice small ice pack. When the cooking time approached, I took the device out of the bag. I could have left it in and taken out the ice pack instead. When it was time to eat, I heard the chime and then opened the lid. I was worried that the spaghetti would be hot on the bottom and cold on top since I did not stir it around. However, I found the meal perfectly warm throughout. I was very impressed and enjoyed my lunch. The next day I tried it again–this time with chicken and rice. The instruction manual mentions when cooking dry foods such as rice, to decrease the temperature and increase the cooking time. Once again, the meal came out great. If you want to heat a sandwich or hamburger, it is suggested you wrap it in foil so it does not get hard on the bottom.

In addition to the LunchGO G1 Smart Electric Heated Lunch Box working as advertised, I really like all of the accessories it comes with. The carrying bag has a lower compartment for the heated lunch box with a setting to hold the small ice pack in place. There is also an upper compartment where you can store the rest of your lunch along with a larger ice pack to keep it cold. For example, you could have a salad kept cold in the upper compartment while having a hot dish in the lower. The steel fork and spoon make eating your meal nicer than having to use disposable plastic utensils and the included pouch keeps these utensils clean and ready to use. The case also comes with a carrying strap you can use to put over your shoulder as well as two handles. LunchGo also sells additional meal containers individually so you could make several meals all at once and store them in your refrigerator or freezer for when you need them. In addition to using the heated lunchbox for lunches, it also makes a great item to take on picnics so you can enjoy hot food. It can also be used when camping or on a road trip. Wrap some taquitos in foil and place them in the container and then put some sour cream, guacamole, and salsa in the top compartment with the ice pack and you can have a tasty treat at a rest stop or even while driving.

The LunchGO G1 Smart Electric Heated Lunch Box is an item that I did not realize I needed. The more I use it, the more new ideas I get of how I can use it next. I like using the heated lunchbox better than using a microwave that often heats unevenly or either undercooks or overcooks. The way the heated lunchbox uses lower temperatures over longer periods time ensures the food is warmed throughout and tastes like it is freshly prepared. The kit comes with a chart that helps you determine temperatures as well as heating times for different types of food. For example, soups and stews usually don’t need to cook as long and can be cooked at higher temperature since the liquid keeps the bottom from burning and also transfers heat throughout better. While the priced of the G1 may seem high at first, it can actually save you a lot of money. It is hard to purchase lunch at a fast food restaurant for under $10. Therefore, saving the cost of 2o fast food meals will easily pay for the convenience and ability to eat healthier hot meals. The same goes for road trips where you can have hot food for yourself and/or children without having to stop. I have been very impressed by the LunchGO G1 Smart Electric Heated Lunch Box and recommend it for anyone who enjoys a hot meal on the go or at work and wants to save time and money.
