Some people meditate. Others chug coffee like they’re auditioning for a role in The Walking Dead (as the caffeine-fueled survivor). Me? I decided to try Advanced GG drink mix because if it’s good enough for esports pros, surely it could help me survive my to-do list without feeling like a side character waiting to respawn.
Each jar will cost you $45 and gets you about 40 servings, using one scoop of mix per serving. That boils down to $1 per drink—still cheaper than a Monster or Red Bull. You can save a little money if you subscribe. But who is Advanced GG, and how does their product hold up? Let’s find out.
Who Is Advanced GG?
Advanced GG makes drink mixes in three formulas: Hydration, Focus, and Energy. Each has a unique blend of vitamins and minerals and in the case of Focus and Energy, caffeine. For this review, I’ll be reviewing their Focus formula in the Sour Gummi Worm flavor.
Their supplements are designed for the gamer lifestyle and feature an open-label formula (meaning all ingredients are listed—nothing is hidden behind a “proprietary blend”). Everything is sugar-free and diabetic-friendly, and while they include active ingredients at clinical dosage levels, they don’t overload on them.
First Impressions: It’s All About the Flavor

You can smell the sour gummy flavor as soon as you open the jar. There’s a tiny scoop inside, which surprised me—I was sure it would take more than that to get the promised results of increased focus and productivity.
The instructions say to mix it with 8 oz of water and drink within 5–10 minutes. I made a slurry by mixing a scoop of powder with a little hot water to help it dissolve before adding the remaining 8 oz of water. Doing it this way prevents the drink from tasting like a powdered mix—if that makes sense. One scoop of the Focus mix delivers 100 mg of caffeine along with a load of vitamins, like B12.
The taste has the right balance of sweet and sour. There was no aftertaste, which was a definite bonus.
Does It Work?
Keep in mind that this is not the super-soldier serum. It’s a gentler caffeine boost than what you’d get from a soda or gas station energy drink, mainly because the caffeine comes from green tea.
After about 10 minutes, I could feel the brain fog slowly lifting. The effects lasted around two hours, which aligns with my usual productive window. I appreciated the smooth ramp-up and equally smooth comedown.
The Advanced reps at MegaCon assured me that I wouldn’t crash like I’d been hit with a dreaded blue shell in Mario Kart. And they were right—it wasn’t like slamming into a wall. It was more like a slow glide back to the ground. I wasn’t ready for a nap when it wore off, but don’t ask me to run a mile either.
The Good, The Bad, and The Geeky
Pros:
- Flavor-packed like a Wreck-It Ralph sugar rush—without the hard crash.
- Focus lasts longer than one round of Lord of the Rings
Cons:
- The price is a little high, but it balances out with how many servings you get
- No Spider-Man origin story powers included (I checked).
Final Thoughts: Worth Adding to Your Inventory?
If you’re a gamer, content creator, or just someone who needs Batman-level focus to power through tasks, Advanced GG’s Sour Gummi Worm could be your secret weapon. Mixing it with a little hot water first makes a huge difference in flavor, and I’ll be sticking with that method from now on.
