Kickstarter Tabletop Alert: The Game Theory Tables ‘Crafted for Connections’ Campaign

Gaming Kickstarter Tabletop Games

As longtime readers here at GeekDad know, we’re big fans of Game Theory Tables. I reviewed their first table, the Origins, back in the fall of 2020. Not only did that become my go-to gaming table, but our games editor, Rob Huddleston, picked up one for himself. Not content to rest on their laurels, Game Theory Tables has continued to not only expand their line of tables, but to refine and iterate their designs.

With their new Crafted for Connections Kickstarter campaign, Game Theory Tables is offering their widest variety of tables yet. And in the case of their Origins MAX, I quite literally mean the widest! Here’s a look at what’s on offer in the campaign.

Game Theory Tables Crafted for Connections

The Crafted for Connections campaign has 5 different “courses” of tables and accessories:

  1. The Arena Digital Game Table
  2. Orgins 2.0 Table
  3. Origins MAX Large Format Table
  4. Accessories
  5. Legacy Deals

There are multiple pledge levels depending on what you’re looking to purchase in the campaign, all of which are deposits towards your final purchase, rather than the full purchase amount. The pledges start with a $49 accessories-only pledge, and go all the way up to an $899 all-in pledge. There are early-bird pledges available as well.

The Crafted for Connections Kickstarter campaign runs for 30 days. You can head to the Crafted for Connections campaign page to pledge your deposit.

The Arena Digital Game Table

The Arena was the big release of 2024 by Game Theory Tables. I got to have a hands-on experience with the table at Dice Tower West last March, and was impressed with its potential for combining the digital and tabletop worlds. It has a 65″ 4K UHD touchscreen and built in mini computer.

For 2025, Game Theory Tables has made some improvements on the design, including a zero-lag HDMI/USB connection and updated controls for things like screen rotation and fan operation. Additionally, the company has partnered with digital gaming sites like Foundry VTT and Tabletopia for exclusive content.

Origins 2.0

While Game Theory Tables made just a few tweaks to the Arena for this year, with the Origins 2.0 they’ve truly delivered a second edition of their flagship table. Here are the newest features:

  • Magnetic Rail System. Now you can attach magnetic accessories to the table, both on the outside and inside of the playing vault.
  • In-Table Power. You can get 8x 110v outlets, 4 USB-A, and 2 USB-C ports built directly into the table to power and charge all your devices.
  • Ultra Armor Stain Finish. For better protection against chips and scratches.

Additionally, there is a limited edition Black Walnut version of the Origins 2.0 exclusively available during this campaign, as well as exclusive artwork from renowned fantasy artists available to customize the playing surfaces. I will also be reviewing the Origins 2.0 table soon, so you can be on the lookout for that article in the next couple of weeks.

Origins MAX

Take everything about the Origins 2.0, and make it bigger! Each Origins MAX is 90″ long, but available in three different widths:

  • Origins MAX: 47.6″ wide. Designed for RPG groups and big board games, seats 8.
  • Origins Max Extra Wide: 56″ wide, can seat 10.
  • Origins WAR: 61″ wide. Built for wargamers, with a playable surface large enough to accommodate most army-size miniatures games.

The Accessories

A ton of different board game table accessories will be available at a discount during the Crafted for Connections campaign. There are several magnetic rail accessories launching with the Origins 2.0, including utility shelves, card holder, wine glass holders and more.

Game Theory Tables has been developing accessories for their tables since they launched the original Origins, and these are all still available and compatible with all of the different tables they offer. There are RPG accessories, dining tops, dice towers, seating options, and more. As I stated earlier, an accessories-only pledge is available for the campaign.

Legacy Deals

If you’re not someone that wants the latest and greatest, then you’ll be happy to know that some of Game Theory Tables’ earlier designs are going to be available at clearance prices during the campaign. You will be able to get discounts ranging from 25% to 60% off the Origins 1.0 LIT, The Meeples Champion, and the Origins Coffee Table.

Critical Upgrade Initiative

“Critical Upgrade Initiative” is a fancy term for an innovative program: Game Theory Tables is debuting an upgrade program where you can trade in your existing game table and earn between a 25% and 45% credit towards buying any new Game Theory Table products. You can read more about the program here. The trade in program is one of the pledge levels available in the campaign.

Why You Should Back Crafted for Connections

This is Game Theory Table’s most comprehensive campaigns so far. There are multiple tables available, with tons of accessories and options for each. And even better, early adopters of tables from the company aren’t left behind, thanks to the Critical Upgrade Initiative.

While you can purchase tables directly from the Game Theory Tables website, their annual Kickstarter campaigns offer the best discounts available. Not to mention that if you’re interested in one of the newest models, Kickstarter backers receive their tables the soonest. Game Theory Tables is an established company with a great track record and well-reviewed and well-crafted tables. So whether you’re looking for your first game table, or you’re ready to upgrade to the newest model, now is a great time to jump in on the Crafted for Connections campaign.
