Cordless power tools make all types of projects much easier. You don’t have to worry about extension cords or even having an electrical outlet. However, it seems every power tool manufacturer designs their tools so they will only connect to their own batteries. This forces consumers to buy their batteries as well as their line of power tools so the batteries are all compatible. Many of these batteries are expensive, sometimes costing more than the tools themselves. Luckily someone has come up with a solution for people who own different brands of cordless power tools and don’t want to have to also purchase several different types of batteries. I recently had the opportunity to try the new PDnation battery system by CEENR which uses multiple adapters to allow their batteries to be used by many different brands.
What Is the CEENR PDnation battery system?
The PDnation battery system is the latest product by CEENR. Unlike most power tool batteries which are made to only fit a specific brand, the PDnation features one type of battery that attaches to a variety of adapters, each designed to fit a specific brand of power tool. The PDnation battery system is now available for preorder on Indiegogo. The system is available in several different bundles with one or more batteries along with 3 or more adapters. The basic bundle starts at $149, but there are some super early bird and early bird specials available with discounts for a limited time. The PDnation battery system is expected to ship in August of 2024.

How to Use the CEENR PDnation battery system
The PDnation battery system is easy to use. Select the appropriate adapter for the cordless power tool you want to use and slide it onto the battery. Then connect the adapter with the battery to your power tool. You are ready to get to work. There are nine different adapters available that supports the following brands: Dewalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Black&Decker, Bosch, Einhell, Craftsman, Porter Cable, and Worx. The battery features four small LED lights to show the charge level. It has two USB ports. The two-way USB-C port is used to charge the battery with input of 5-15V 3A. This port can also be used to charge other devices with a DC output of 20V 2.25A. The USB-A port can be used to charge a second device.
The PDnation battery is equipped with high-performance 21700 battery cells. They are 18V (20V Max), as used by most cordless power tools. The battery has a capacity of 4,000 mah. It takes about 90 minutes for a full charge. Many power tool batteries require a 110 V outlet for charging. However, since the PDnation uses a USB-C port, you can charge it at home, in the workshop, or even in your vehicle. The batteries also have built in protections against overcharging, over-discharge, short-circuit, and high-temperature.
Why You Should Get the CEENR PDnation battery system
I had the opportunity to try out the PDnation battery system around my home. I have cordless tools by Black and Decker so used that adapter with the battery. I found that the adapter slides easily onto the battery and then attaches to the tool just like the regular battery that came with the tool. I like the LEDs next to the two USB ports since they let me know how much charge is remaining in the battery. Plus the ability to use the battery to charge your other devices is a real bonus. Another nice feature is the ability to charge the batter with a standard USB-C cord. There is no need for a specialty charger used by regular power tool batteries. That is one less thing to store or lose.
Batteries or other parts such as cords that only work with one brand of product and nothing else really bother me. Either you have to commit to a single brand or have multiple parts each for their own unique brand. Plus each brand of battery has to have their own unique charger as well. Therefore, I like universal parts that can work with a variety of brands and products. I am impressed with CEENR’s solution to the power tool battery problem. Their universal battery with a system of adapters is simple and cost effective. They offer bundles with variations of adapters as well as a choice of one or two batteries.
If you have more than one brand of power tools and are having to use different batteries and chargers for each brand, then I recommend the CEENR PDnation battery system. I have been impressed with the system and no longer feel the need to stick with just one brand of tool to avoid having to buy more specialized batteries.
