Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is a yearly event held on the first Saturday in May where comic distributors pool together to release tons of free comic promos for people to take home. As it collides with May the Fourth, one of Star Wars’ iconic days, it is only fitting that Dark Horse has decided to give away Young Jedi Adventures and Plant vs. Zombies to younger audiences.

In this wonderful issue—one that can easily be seen just as a quick fix for the Hellboy fan—Márk Lászlo really shows off. His rich imagery and a keen eye for detail are a delight to behold, and the homage to the entire Hellboy trajectory merits checking it out.
Hellboy is visiting a medium, suspecting witchcraft, as a woman who was young when she disappeared has reappeared ancient and dead wearing the same clothes she wore as a twenty-year-old. The greedy creature that steals the lives of innocent people wants to have a go at eating all the years Hellboy has left because she thinks that he is a creature that can satiate her hunger for years and perhaps make her immortal.
But is the vast span of Hellboy’s life perhaps a bit too much to swallow?
The additional Stranger Things story is playful and dark at the same time, with Argyle humorously telling tall tales about Mexican lore to his friend Meyers—the chupacabra, La Llorona, etc.—and ends up asking him if he has ever encountered dark and traumatic things in his past? You can guess the answer…
