The Dewey Decibel System, a lit-hop masterwork from rappers MC Lars and Mega Ran, recently made it to the shortlist for upcoming Grammy nomination—specifically for Best Children’s Music Album, an honor previously bestowed on the likes of Lisa Loeb (2018, Feel What U Feel), Secret Agent 23 Skidoo (2017, Infinity Plus One), and The Okee Dokee Brothers (2013, Can You Canoe?).
Woke up with two amazing pieces of news: (1) the @Athletics now have a chance of going to the World Series after last night's game and (2) @MegaRan and my "Dewey Decibel" album made it to the shortlist for the children's Grammy nominations this year!! What an awesome day! pic.twitter.com/uqWaBPsR5b

If you’ve already experienced The Dewey Decibel System, released back in June of this year, you know that it features lovingly lavish lyrical odes to literary greats like Lewis Carroll, Washington Irving, Edgar Allan Poe, and even Alan Moore.
On the other hand, if you managed to miss out (or simply want to revisit the album on physical media), our friends at Needlejuice Records are currently taking pre-orders for a special vinyl and cassette release. Expected in February, the LP comes on gorgeous 180-gram red and yellow splatter vinyl, while the cassette, coming in January, will arrive in a striking translucent yellow. Both come with a download card featuring album commentary and can be pre-purchased now.
We at GeekDad would like to congratulate Lars and Ran for the well-deserved attention and to thank Needlejuice for putting the project on wax. Well done, fellows!
