Convention Connection: Geek Culture Conventions for Week 13 2019

There are a lot of big names on the convention scene this last weekend in March in the Convention Connection for Week 13 2019. Whether you’re on the east coast, the west coast, right in the middle of the country, or in Canada or the United Kingdom, there’s something for everyone this week!

Comics & Geek Culture Conventions

Our spotlight convention this week is the 20th-anniversary Planet Comicon 2019 in Kansas City, Missouri. The event runs from Friday, March 29 through Sunday, March 31. Celebrity and creator guests include Jason Aaron, Mark Bagley, Linda Blair, Cullen Bunn, Rick Burchett, Dean Cain, Chris Claremont, Amanda Conner, Denys Cowan, Kevin Eastman, Cary Elwes, Mick Foley, Gary Gianni, Keith Giffen, Patrick Gleason, Jeremy Haun, Phil Hester, Bret Iwan, Tom Kane, Ant Lucia, Doug Mahnke, Jennifer Morrison, Rey Mysterio, Fabian Nicieza, Jessica Nigri, Jimmy Palmiotti, Danielle Panabaker, Ande Parks, Lori Petty, James and Oliver Phelps, Don Rosa, Michael Rosenbaum, Chris Sabat, Brandon Sanderson, Chris Sarandon, William Shatner, Wallace Shawn, John Wesley Shipp, Jim Starlin, Jim Steranko, Tara Strong, Babs Tarr, Tom Welling, Henry Winkler, Bonnie Wright, and many more.

Programming at this year’s event includes esports (in cooperation with the National Association of College Esports and the High School Esports League), tabletop gaming, cosplay contest, the inaugural Planet Comicon Film Fest, comedy, karaoke, the Spectrum 26 awards ceremony, pub crawl, panels, workshops, and more. Tickets are on sale online or at the door.
