The cinematic education of my eldest child continues! He was 10 when I showed him this – and I wasn’t sure if he would “get it” or not. This isn’t an action-packed movie that usually keeps the attention of a child. Instead, this is important. It means something.
He did “get it.” He even dove a bit deeper into it as well by reading a giant “making of…” book about it. At some point I probably need to show him classics beside Spielberg movies (like here or here)… maybe.
I noticed that Flashback Cinema (a company that shows classics on the big screen a few times a week throughout the Country) was showing it this week. Might have to break out the MoviePass (assuming they are still in business later this week) and take the kid again.
