We continue to be very excited for the upcoming Incredibles 2. This new trailer hit this morning, and we’re eating it up (not unlike the delicious take-out food the family enjoys). Looks like Elastigirl is made the symbol for the return of the supers into society, while Bob becomes a stay-at-home-dad taking care of three powered kids. But a new big bad is lurking just behind the scenes (and screens), and it may take the entire fantastic family to save… everything?
I’m so worried that this is just going to be a lot of jokes about being a bad dad. But Mr. Mom isn’t funny to me.
As a stay-at-home dad myself (and a huge fan of the first Incredibles movie), I definitely share your concern! But I loved the way Pixar handled a married couple with kids in the first one, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll pull it off in a way that doesn’t just perpetuate the stereotypes.
