Re-Spawn time! I took a week off for a much needed vacation, but I’m back with the video games GeekMoms and GeekDads have been talking about during the last two weeks:

  • Microsoft has announced the release date for Star Wars Battlefront II on their website. GeekDad Ricardo Rebelo gives you all the details for Xbox and other platforms in his article “EA Announces ‘Star Wars Battlefront II.’
  • Nintendo Switch has a few newer games out for those that have finished The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mr. Shifty, and Graceful Explosion Machine all released recently. GeekDad Mike LeSauvage played a demo of the latter at PAX and found it quite fun. Check out the game on the Vertex Pop website. It sort of looks like Geometry Dash meets Space Invaders to me, what do you think?
  • Playstation has announced several upcoming releases for the PS4 since my last update.
    • Injustice 2, a DC-branded fighting game that promises to deliver the best experience yet with customizations of look, gear, and storyline as you progress through several game modes has a release date of 05/16/2017. As with most games these days there are different tiers of preorders you can buy that will give you extras in-game. Check out the details here.
    • Keeping with the fighting them, Tekken 7 has a release date of 06/02/2017 and is available for preorder now. Details can be found here.
    • Make sure to bookmark The Drop on the Playstation blog where each week you get a detailed list of synopses of all the games coming out the next week. I think What Remains of Edith Finch looks pretty creepy and very cool.
  • STEAM has lots of one day or weekend sales and you should bookmark their News front page so you can keep up on them. Here is a link to the Specials section of the STEAM store as well.
      • Planet Coaster released a free spring update with new rides and features. GeekMom’s Sophie Brown wrote this review of the original release that you should check out if you’re considering a purchase: “Planet Coaster: The New Standard in Theme Park Simulation.”
      • Mr. Shifty (mentioned above) is also available for STEAM if you’re not a Switch owner.
