Re-Roll: This Week’s Tabletop Game News

Re-Roll Tabletop Games

Here are the latest announcements and stories that caught our eyes this week:

  • I’m not gonna lie, I can’t wait for Eric Lang’s Rising Sun from CMON. I’ve been eating up every scrap of info I can get about this game and yesterday, CMON released some more tidbits. Cannot wait!
  • Missed out on Gloomhaven? The retail version is scheduled to release next week on Tuesday.
  • Jonathan Liu reviewed Monstrous last year and liked it quite a bit (he has a thing for dexterity games). It was Kickstarted by the Australian Good Games Publishing, but thanks to a partnership with CMON, the game will be arriving in stores … today.
  • No matter what time of day, a slice of pizza always sounds good. Next Wednesday, Bezier Games’ New York Slice will be making its way to stores and its gorgeous game pieces of pizza may have you gnawing on the cardboard, it looks so good.
  • Also on Wednesday, the James Ernest-created, Patrick Rothfuss-inspired, Tak will make its way to you via your local game store shelves. As words have power, games have power … or something. Try it out, it’s fantastic!
  • Terra Mystica, one of the finest strategy games ever, is leaving terra firma for space. In Terra Mystica: Gaia Project, you’ll terraform and colonize home planets in what’s sure to become a new favorite.
  • If that’s too heady for you, check out this teaser for Cities of Splendor, a coming box full of four expansions for the wildly popular set collection game.
  • Sometime after March, Oh Captain! will be making its way to you from Ludonaute/Asmodee. This nautical-themed bluffing game will have you fighting with your fellow survivors to amass the most gold on your deserted island.
  • PAX Australia announced its dates: October 27-29. Get your tickets!
  • USAopoly is pairing with Czech Games to bring new variations of Codenames, it was announced yesterday. First up are Disney/Pixar and Marvel versions. Woo hoo!!
