Calamityware Series 1

Three years ago, Don Moyer launched his first Kickstarter project, for a traditional blue dinner plate. Well, sort of traditional.

At first glance, the plates look like other fancy blue plates, with patterned edges, pagoda-like buildings, some plants… but then you notice other details, like the flying monkeys overhead or the giant robot looming in the background. Moyer has designed a total of 12 dinner plate patterns so far, as well as bug-infested small plates and bowls, BADbandanas with monsters and pixel art and skeletons, and various other products featuring his wonderful illustrations.

These first four Series 1 plates have been sold out for some time, so now Moyer is back with a Kickstarter campaign to make more. The illustrations have been slightly tweaked, and these will feature the in-glaze technique (used since plate 5) rather than the on-glaze technique of the originals. So whether you missed out on them the first time around, or you just want a set of plates that match the newer plates, now’s your chance!
