Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve seen a lot of news from The Pokémon Company International concerning the upcoming chapters in the Pokémon saga. On the Pokémon TCG side of things, last week it was revealed the newest expansion, Steam Siege, will launch on August 3rd.

This expansion promises new BREAK cards including Xerneas BREAK and Yveltal BREAK, new Megas like Shiny Mega Gardevoir-EX, and Mythical Pokémon Volcanion and Magearna in their TCG debut. Steam Siege also marks the return of dual-type Pokémon, with Volcanion’s twin powers of fire and water giving this expansion its hot new name.

Not to be outdone by its tabletop peer, the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon website has been updated with tons of new info regarding this hotly anticipate release. You can get details on the Alola region itself as well as its new Legendaries, Solgaleo and Lunala. But don’t get so wrapped up in the lush environment that you overlook news of the game’s unique QR Code support—not to mention my personal favorite feature, the adorable Rotom Pokédex!

Nintendo is even getting in on the action itself, with its Day 2 E3 coverage hinging on a special Nintendo Treehouse: Live presentation. Starting at 10 a.m. PT this Wednesday, June 15th, the Treehouse crew will kick off their daily programming with a Pokémon GO developer Q&A. You can catch this and all of the action from the show floor via Nintendo’s channels on YouTube and Twitch, as well as the special E3 portal.

Lastly, don’t forget that this month’s featured Pokémon is the Mythical Manaphy. Card-gamers can pick up the Pokémon TCG: Mythical Pokémon Collection—Manaphy to bring this special Pocket Monster to the tabletop, while those of us still enjoying Pokémon Omega Ruby, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon X, or Pokémon Y can receive Manaphy via the current Nintendo Network distribution. Manaphy is very special because it’s the only Mythical Pokémon that can be left at the Day Care with Ditto to produce another Pokémon, Phione—so you could say this month really is a two-for-one deal.
