Nintendo Unveils New ‘Splatoon’ Amiibo

Gaming Videogames

Just when I thought I was done buying amiibo, Nintendo has managed to coax me back! Just yesterday, the Big N revealed a handful of new interactive figurines from my family’s longtime favorite Wii U title, Splatoon–and not just any amiibo, at that!

First up are the Squid Sisters, Callie and Marie. Rather than unlocking additional missions (like the previous Splatoon amiibo), scanning in these sparkling chanteuses will instead open up a new slate of songs that the sisters can perform in-game. This special two-pack will be available July 8 for $24.99.

Joining Callie and Marie this July are redecos of the original Splatoon amiibo trio: Inkling Boy, Inkling Girl, and Inkling Squid. Just like before, they’ll be available in a three-pack, with only the male and female figs also sold individually. This is good news for folks like me, who copped the Inkling kids separately back when the original trio was impossible to find and still haven’t quite been able to stomach picking up the whole set just to capture that elusive cephalopod.
