Gen Con crowds

Better Late Than Never? My Gen Con 2015 Photo Recap

Events Places Tabletop Games

Next up, some cosplay. I didn’t take a lot of cosplay pics this year, but there were a lot of people in costume, from superheroes to game-related costumes to… well, whatever this spider is from.

Lots of paint: a Weeping Angel seen on the street corner near the convention center, and the Wii Fit trainer trying a game of Strife. Photos: Jonathan H. Liu

I took a moment to pose with Cthulhu at the Warpo booth and ran into Kimmy Schmidt (but did not steal her backpack).

I’d seen several people with elf ears throughout the weekend and was told that Aradani Costumes was a great place to get them, so I stopped by on Sunday and picked up a pair for my daughter. They actually paint the color right on the spot, so they had to make do with a photo and matching somewhat close to my skin color.

And this:

Well, that about wraps it up! I still have a sizable list of things from Gen Con (including game reviews) that I’ll be sharing over the next few weeks, but that’s enough for now. I’ll leave you with one last photo:

Airport Games
At the airport, people were still playing games until it was time to board. Photo: Jonathan H. Liu

I loved that even as I walked to my gate at the airport, there were people everywhere playing games. On my flight home, I sat next to two other people who had been at Gen Con, and we talked about the games we’d played and things we’d seen over the weekend. It was a great way to stretch out Gen Con just a little bit longer.

Until next year!
