The latest Big Hero 6 trailer gives us a more in-depth look at San Fransokyo and its heroic and villainous denizens. So far, this movie has charm oozing out of its segmented mech armor — not that I would expect anything less from the powerhouse that Disney Animation has become.
My only real concern is that I’m so enamored with Baymax and his bumbling about that I’m afraid the other five members of the team aren’t going to live up to the standard he’s set. The entire last third of the trailer, from Hiro and Baymax sneaking in to the “hairy baby,” had me (and my kids) dying.
Speaking of kids, I hope that Disney learned their lesson after Frozen and have supertankers full of merch steaming towards the U.S. Not one, but both of my children have declared this the “greatest movie ever” based on those last 30 seconds. I have a feeling I’m going to be seeing a lot of Big Hero 6 around the house come this fall.
I also wondered about the other 5. Perhaps 5 more introduction trailers to come?
Disney doesn’t make many Merchandise mistakes. The mistake with Frozen was under-estimating the girl dollar. This seems more of a “boy” movie. I bet they have merchandise squared away (especially with no Pixar movie this year).

They’ve released stills and voice actor announcements for the rest of the team; but no scenes. I’m sure that will change – SDCC is next week after all.
