Wreck-It Ralph Trailer Released

Geek Culture

The first official trailer for Wreck-It Ralph was just released today, and it looks awesome. Wreck-It Ralph is an upcoming Disney movie about video games — more specifically, about a bad guy from an old arcade game who’s tired of being the bad guy. I was sold as soon as I got to the clip near the beginning with Ralph at a “Bad-Anon” meeting. Although the main characters and featured video games are made up for the movie, there are appearances from a lot of notable characters: Clyde (the orange ghost from Pac-Man), a couple bad guys from Street Fighter, Bowser, Dr. Robotnik … even Q-bert makes an appearance later in the trailer.

The film features John C. Reilly as the voice of Ralph, Jane Lynch as the sergeant in a space-based FPS, Jack McBrayer as Fix-It Felix Jr. (the hero of Ralph’s video game), and Sarah Silverman as a kid from a Candyland-inspired racing game called Sugar Rush. (It’s not shown in the credits yet but I’m pretty sure that’s Tim Allen as Clyde.)

I get video game nostalgia just watching the trailer. Can’t wait for the movie!
