Pacific Northwest Gamers, Prepare for GameStorm!

Geek Culture

For those of you gamer geeks out there who can’t wait for Gen Con, or live in the Pacific Northwest, registration is open for the 14th annual GameStorm convention in Vancouver, Washington. Located in the Portland, Oregon, metro area, this year’s convention runs from March 22nd through March 25th and features 24 hour gaming. With attendance running in the high hundreds to the low thousands of avid gaming fans, it is a great place to actually try games which can be checked out from the extensive GameStorm collection. The convention is kid-friendly, although there is a waiver to sign and children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

This year’s featured guests come from Steve Jackson Games, makers of the Munchkin and GURPS Titles, as well as Paizo Games, makers of the Pathfinder RPG. For those of you game creators out there, there will be a place to display your wares for the Pacific Northwest gaming community.

Of special interest to us here at GeekDad: Lorien Green will be screening her documentary on board Games and those who play them, Going Cardboard. From everything we have seen, it looks fantastic. (For a complete list of other screenings, visit the Going Cardboard website.)

If you are interested in registering for the convention you can do so here. Hopefully we will see you there and happy gaming!
