Go Go Kiddo!

There are a lot of apps on the market geared toward kids right now. Some of them just kill time, and some aim to educate, but not many of them manage to pull off both for more than a short time before kids get bored. That’s not the case with Go Go Kiddo! which manages to mix education, fun, and creative play in a way that will engage kids for hours.

This new app geared toward kids ages 3-5 is really like getting a bunch of smaller games all in one app.  The main menu is an island with seven different lands that are each their own self-contained game united through the use of adorable characters that young kids will love.

Meet the Characters

Kids learn all about letters by tracing them and then using a slingshot to knock them over, pop bubbles, and score points in Letter Launch.  Then they can head on over to Trace and Race where they can explore the world of numbers.  Each of these has thirty-six levels, so they’re not over and done with in seconds.  Your kids will love trying to beat their last score and will be increasing their letter and number recognition in the process.

The Stickerbook

The Stickerbook section of the game is likely the one that you’ll break out when you’ve got a lot of time to kill–say, a car ride to visit family this holiday season. Here, kids can choose from scenes like the beach, or a picnic, or even a pizza shop, and then drag the stickers from the bottom of the the screen up to create their own picture.  All of the characters are there in a variety of poses, along with plenty of clothes, accessories, and even props like fish and helicopters. If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, then you can even take a picture and use that as the background for your new work of art.

Go Go Kiddo ($1.99)  is available for iPad and iPhone as well as Android devices. There are also free updates with additional content planned in future.
