Not too long ago, I wrote a blog post about an enterprising GeekDad, Stephen Von Worley, and his quest to teach kids about maps using street names.

Now he’s back with version 2.0 of the “See Dick and Jane Streets” roads with street names mapping “thingee” as he called it.

Improvements include an upgraded interface and four times more names. Those new names, as illustrated above, include some rare ones, like “Corrina.”

I’m surprised there are that many places with my name. But after a childhood of not having any pencils, toy license plates or stickers with my name, I’ll take it.

And my kids had fun trying out their own names using the link to version 2.0. They found a lot more with their names, however, because as a parent with an unusual name, I gave them names that are a little more common.
