Joseph Michael Straczynski (JMS) was born on July 17, 1954. He was the creator, executive producer and head writer for the science fiction TV series Babylon 5. Straczynski famously wrote 91 out of the 110 Babylon 5 episodes, including all of the third, fourth and all but one episode of the fifth season; a total of 59 episodes back-to-back. He has penned novels, short stories, comic books (mostly for Marvel) and radio dramas, is a playwright, a journalist and has written a renowned text on screenwriting. JMS was also and early adopter of the Usenet and one of the first show runners to directly interact with fans on online forums.
