Recent events in Charleston, South Carolina, have me dwelling on one of the great parenting struggles: the challenge of maintaining a child’s innocence while living in a world wrought with so many unconscionable acts. Using Jon Stewart’s already notorious ‘Daily Show’ monologue as a jumping off point, I explore the hard questions of what to share and how to share the truth of tragedy with children.
