This book displays a host of scenes featuring LEGO pieces you can acquire either online or at the brick stores (pun intended). it is a fun take on different sets that entail different stories, castles, landscapes and cityscapes, from the author of LEGO engineer.
Building LEGO® Worlds. Create the Worlds You’ve Only Imagined by Jeff Friesen (Author)
Once you are familiar with following and completing a LEGO set, perhaps you take it apart and wonder what else you could do with the pieces.
What follows is this open-ended book, featuring more than130 different models, presented step by step, with BrickLink part numbers throughout. Why do I say open-ended? Because each project serves as a toolkit to understand different features: rocks, trees, fountains, statues, buildings, bridges… You can then test them into different combinations, creating landscapes of your own.
I can even think of Minecraft with some of the terrains and plant life I’ve seen inside the book.
The project design is modular and can be combined. My favorite was the Japanese Hot Springs Village, complete with Torii gates. The projects range from the mythical and whimsical to classic Skyscraper Metropolis. Even Futurist, Steampunk, and Solarpunk constructions are proposed.
Friesen takes care of every tiny little detail, showing you why how he builds work, and how deeply architecture shapes atmosphere.
