CodeWizardsHQ offers online coding classes for kids from ages 8 to 18. My daughter participated in an intro Python class this summer and really enjoyed it. On Monday (September 30), CodeWizardsHQ will be launching their 5th annual Logic Challenge.

The nationwide Logic Challenge is free to participate and lasts for 10 weeks. Each week on Monday, kids will get a logic puzzle to solve. They’ll earn points based on completing the puzzles (more points for correct answers but some points just for participating), and they can also earn bonus points for completing the challenges on earlier attempts and more quickly, as well as bonuses for maintaining a streak.

At the end of the 10 weeks, every 50 points gets you 1 entry into the drawing for prizes, which include things like a Nintendo Switch, Apple Airpods, Sony noise-canceling headphones, and a Fujifilm Instax camera. (Note that I’m not sure how many students will be eligible for prizes.)

There are three tiers, one each for elementary, middle school, and high school students, and the puzzles are designed to encourage “logical reasoning and critical thinking skills.” I’ve registered my kids and we’re looking forward to seeing what sorts of puzzles they get!
